Yes, it’s a chimp on a Segway. I’m not sure about the dungarees and the helmet but he does seem to be getting the hang of it by the end. Guess that means it’s only George Bush who can’t ride one.

Thursday, October 30th, 2008Ook ook, “Ook ook, ook ook ook!” Ook ook Tarzan ook.
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008Books today, and news that Cheeta the chimpanzee has published his memoirs. Apparently he’s rubbed shoulders with Charlie Chaplin, Errol Flynn and Humphrey Bogart. He’s been described as the simian F. Scott Fitzgerald so it has to be worth a look.
I wonder when we can expect Bubbles’ tell-all biography about his life with Michael Jackson?
The Secret of Monkey Island – the play!
Monday, October 27th, 2008I still love the game, but I never thought anyone would turn it into a play – they even have subtitles! Just needs a point and click interface for the audience..
(Ok, there’s more pirates than monkeys in it, but they’re awesome too obviously..)
Rob and Elliot (and monkey)
Sunday, October 26th, 2008An excerpt from the Rob and Elliot webcomic (which has an iMonkey in it!)

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008Opera today and a retelling of the classic TV show, Monkey, composed by Damon Albarn from the monkey featuring band Gorillaz and Blur, which is about to start playing at the O2 in London. I loved the TV show, so I’ve got high hopes for the opera.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the title is my attempt to render the sound of Monkey summoning his cloud in text form (which will mean nothing to you if you’ve never seen it…)
Isn’t the phrase “Catch a tiger by the tail?”
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Gibbons really are archetypal cheeky monkeys..
Even Francis Bacon has monkeys
Saturday, October 18th, 2008Just got back from the Francis Bacon exhibition at the Tate. He has a couple of monkey paintings, including this fantastic one of a baboon. Even in art, monkeys are awesome.
Buy yourself a bigfoot
Thursday, October 16th, 2008Ok, I’m not sure if Bigfoot counts as a monkey or not but it’s impossible to ignore the chance to pick up the Bigfoot body which featured in the well publicised hoax of a few months ago.
It’s currently available on eBay for a bargain price of $202,341.25. Could be just the thing to go next to your Piltdown man skeleton in your front room?
[Edit] Looks like it sold for $250,283.00!

I need a trunk monkey..
Wednesday, October 15th, 2008Sadly it wasn’t an option on my car, although I’d probably have to have something a bit smaller than the chimp model. Strangely they’re not mentioned as additional security features on car insurance policies either. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.
